What are the Types of Education?
There are three types of Education.
- Formal
- Informal
- Nonformal
Formal Education
Formal education is the education in which the knowledge delivered by trained teachers in a systematic deliberated way within a school, higher education or college and university. Formal education is necessary for better living in society. Examples of formal learning include classroom instruction, web-based training, remote labs, e-learning courses or learning management system, learning through slides in-classroom, workshops, seminars, webinars, etc.
Informal Education
Informal education takes place outside the classroom, in after-school programs, playground, community-based organizations, museums, libraries, or inside and outside home. In this education, every person learns their environment or fro society. Examples of informal learning include activities such as teaching your child manners of life, how to brush his teeth? how to comb your hairs? how to eat food?
Nonformal Education
Nonformal education is any structured and organized educational activity that takes place outside the formal and informal educational system. Usually, it is stretchy, learner-centered, contextualized and uses a participatory approach. There is no specific target group for nonformal education it could be kids, youth or adults. Examples of non-formal learning encompass swimming sessions for infant or preschooler, populace-based sports programs, and programs developed by organizations such as the Boy Scouts, the Girl Guides, non-credit adult education courses, sports or fitness programs, professional conference-style seminars, and so on.
